Magpie 'Garru' Artwork Print

This contemporary Aboriginal artwork features the magpie, a bird celebrated for its sharp mind, distinctive song, and deep sense of community. Set against a vibrant pink background, the design is brought to life through detailed linework and dot elements that reflect my cultural storytelling. Each mark holds meaning, representing connection, resilience, and the relationships we hold with each other and with Country. Bold yet minimal, it’s a modern expression of culture that carries both beauty and story into any space.
 
The monochrome was an exciting challenge for this one. At our old house we had a crew of magpies that would come by every afternoon to be fed so i enjoyed being able to create an artwork inspired by them.
