Store Policies

1. Refund Policy

Being hand painted, your purchase is likely to be what i call, perfectly imperfect! There may be a dot joined with another, a squiggly line instead of a perfectly straight one but that, an imperfection or flaw but that my friend, IS the beauty of hand-painted products! I do not accept returns of hand-painted products for this reason.

I strive for all customers to be happy with their purchase and the beauty of hand painted items means you receive a one-of-a-kind product that no-one will ever have except for you!


Faulty Items and Change of Mind

If an item is faulty upon receipt, you are entitled to return a product for a refund. You are responsible for returning the product in a resalable condition. Refunds are only issued upon the return of the item (minus postage costs) within a 30 day time frame (from date of purchase). Refunds are not provided for change of mind or because you do not like it i.e. fragrance too strong, too weak, didn't like the fragrance etc. Please read item descriptions.

Please be sure to review the images of your chosen product, prior to purchasing to ensure you are happy with the product- flaws and all! As noted on the shop pages, artworks are at my discretion and as each item is hand painted they may differ from the photographed item.

Teapots: As each teapot is hand painted to order, you may not receive the exact teapot as pictured. Whilst i try my best to replicate my design these may change as i see fit.


Serving Boards, Candles & other items: The images used for these products are ones i refer to as 'one i prepared earlier haha!' meaning you may not receive the EXACT product in the image all of the time, yours may be a copy of one of my earlier pieces. I strive to recreate the design of the product pictured, however there may be slight differences in paint colour (as all paints are hand-mixed for each order) and there may be slight design variations at my discretion. Please also note- the colours may differ to how your computer/phone screen presents them. Refer to each product description for the colour description.


In the case of breakages upon delivery, please follow the below steps:

1. You are required to keep all packaging and take pictures of the product in the box as you found it.

2. Get in contact with me via the Contact Us page immediately, to report breakage.

3. You will be required to take the package to your nearest Australia Post, where they will submit a request for compensation. You may also receive the refund on the spot (depending on cost of item).

1. Follow step 1 and 2 above.

2. A refund will be issued minus shipping costs. Please do not ask for a refund of shipping costs. Breakages are unfortunately a risk you take when buying fragile items online (such as candles and teapots) and while this can feel 'unfair', as a small business it is simply not affordable to refund shipping costs AND be out of pocket for the item itself.



if you would like a replacement item, you will be responsible for shipping costs and your replacement will not be shipped until payment has cleared.

2. Shipping

Australia-wide Shipping

I offer shipping right across Australia using Australia Post. Typical postage times for Australia are 2-3 days (this does not include production time). Items are posted on Tuesday afternoons. If you need an item for an occasion i.e. birthday present, please ensure you have allowed enough time for production AND shipping. Production times are noted on shop pages and below. I will not be held responsible if orders do not arrive in time.


Local Delivery

Wagga residents receive free shipping if ordering over $100. (delivered Mondays, Tuesday or Saturdays after production time), simply select this option at checkout. For orders under $100, local delivery is $10.

International Shipping

The utmost care is taken in packaging my products to ensure they arrive safely at your doorstep. I use a combination of bubble wrap, air packs, foam packers and foam wrapping. I am endeavoring to make Little Black Duck Aus as eco-friendly as i possibly can also. This means i will recycle packaging where possible include product boxes, wrapping material etc.

3. How long will it take to get my order?

Little Black Duck is a true one-woman-show and as such, it does require time to produce each of your items. While i endeavor to get your items to you as fast as i can, i also work part-time and have a young family who are obviously my priority. I have put in place a number of time frames for each product so you can rest assured of the time it will take to get your order created. Please take this into consideration when ordering. Please note however, that these timeframes are an estimate and may change due to circumstances. 

Candles: minimum 1 week production time. I may occasionally have some candles pre-poured so you may receive them quicker, however this is not promised. The 3 tier-ed Aboriginal candles are definitely a 1-week minimum also as they are a labour of love requiring 3 different pours!

Serving Boards: these take time! Not only do i prep and hand paint each board, i then also give it a luscious, glossy coating for you to protect your new piece of functional art BUT it also makes it completely food-safe for all those little morsels to take up the entire surface! Allow a 2-3 week minimum for your boards. As above, i may have some completed and ready to go, but again this is not promised.

Teapots: Ahhh my babies! Teapots are hand painted to order and take a minimum of 4 weeks each. I may have some painted in stock already, if you need a teapot in a hurry and want to find out which ones i have painted and ready to go, please get in touch via the contact page. Please note: if your order contains any of the other items, your order will take the suggested time of those items to be finalised.

Prints: Allow a production period of 1-2 weeks for prints.

All other items: Allow a handling time of 1 week for all of the reasons listed above!

Shipping usually takes about 2-3 days (outside of COVID-19). Be sure to add this into your expected timeframe.

4. Where is Little Black Duck based?

I am based in Wagga Wagga, NSW on Wiradjuri Country.

5. Custom Products

I am able to offer custom candles through custom label design and/or signature scents for your events, corporate orders or gift-giving purposes.

All images on this website are the property of Little Black Duck Aus. I ask that you respect my intellectual property and ask for permission before using any images from this website. For image use, please contact LBD via the Contact Us page.

7. Wholesale

I love collaborating with other creators and sharing the Little Black Duck love around Australia and the world, but as majority of my products are hand-painted or hand-poured by me, they are very labour intensive and this is reflected in my retail and wholesale pricing.
