Kakadu Plum Candle

Rating is 0.0 out of five stars based on reviews

Named after the iconic Kakadu Plum, a native Australian fruit celebrated for its nourishing properties and cultural significance, this candle is a journey of fragrance and discovery.

Did you know? Kakadu plums, also known as "gubinge" or "billygoat plums," are native to the tropical woodlands of Northern Australia, particularly the Kakadu National Park. They have been used by Indigenous communities for thousands of years for their medicinal benefits and as a source of sustenance, containing one of the highest concentrations of vitamin C of any fruit in the world.

Now, let the fragrance notes of our Kakadu Plum Candle transport you to the heart of the Australian wilderness. At the top, indulge your senses with the juicy sweetness of passion fruit, lime, pineapple, and strawberry, like a burst of sunshine on a warm summer's day. These top notes set the stage for an uplifting experience that awakens the senses and invigorates the spirit.

As you journey deeper into the fragrance, you'll encounter the middle notes of violet, gardenia, melon, and guava, reminiscent of a blooming bush garden in full bloom. Close your eyes and breathe in the delicate perfume of wildflowers and tropical fruits, a symphony of scent that dances on the breeze.

But it's the base notes of tonka bean, coconut, balsam, and cinnamon that ground this fragrance in the rich earthiness of the Australian landscape, like the sturdy roots of the ancient trees that dot the land. Together, these notes create a harmonious blend that  invites you to connect with the land.

So light our Kakadu Plum Candle and let its fragrance fill your home with the essence of the Australian wilderness. It's more than just a candle—it's a celebration of nature, culture, and the enduring spirit of the land down under.

A great candle experience begins with proper candle care and maintenance. Here are some important burning tips for enjoying your Little Black Duck candle:

1. Preventing memory rings.

Believe it or not, candles have a memory and the very first time you burn your new candle is the most important. Ensure you burn your candle long enough to completely melt the entire top surface of your candle. If the wax is not allowed to liquefy or to melt from edge to edge of the container, it will create a “memory ring,”. Once a candle has this “memory ring,” it will continue to tunnel and to burn that way for the life of the candle. And no one wants that!

2. Trim your wick.

Before lighting, always trim the wick to 6mm and remove any wick debris as this encourages an even burn.

3. Be safe.

Always burn your candle on a heat resistant surface, keep it out of drafts and NEVER leave it unattended while lit. Always burn candles well away from other heat sources, and anything flammable. Make sure burning candles are out of reach of children and pets.

4. Goodbye is the hardest word.

KNOW WHEN TO SAY GOODBYE. When only 1/2" of wax remains, it's time to let your candle go. Discontinue use of a candle when ½” of wax remains at the bottom of the jar. This will prevent possible heat damage to the counter/surface or container itself. The glass can get hot on the bottom as the flame nears the base of the jar and most of the wax has been consumed. By following this instruction, the glass will not get too hot.

5. Know your limit.

Candles should not be burned for more than four hours at a time. It is recommended that after burning for four hours, candles be extinguished, allowed to cool for two hours, and trimmed before relighting.
