Australian Bush-Inspired Candles Your Customers Haven’t Experienced Before

Looking for something that isn’t just another generic vanilla or lemongrass blend?
These aren’t mass-produced, off-the-shelf candles - they’re signature blends, hand-poured in small batches on Wiradjuri Country and only available through Little Black Duck.

Each candle features a label adorned with original Aboriginal artwork, created by artist and founder Ashleigh Pengelly. The designs are bold, meaningful, and completely unique - making each candle a statement piece in your store, not just a scent.

  • A great candle experience begins with proper candle care and maintenance. Here are some important burning tips for enjoying your Little Black Duck candle:

    1. Preventing memory rings.

Believe it or not, candles have a memory and the very first time you burn your new candle is the most important. Ensure you burn your candle long enough to completely melt the entire top surface of your candle. If the wax is not allowed to liquefy or to melt from edge to edge of the container, it will create a “memory ring,”. Once a candle has this “memory ring,” it will continue to tunnel and to burn that way for the life of the candle. And no one wants that!

    2. Trim your wick.

Before lighting, always trim the wick to 6mm and remove any wick debris as this encourages an even burn.

    3. Be safe.

Always burn your candle on a heat resistant surface, keep it out of drafts and NEVER leave it unattended while lit. Always burn candles well away from other heat sources, and anything flammable. Make sure burning candles are out of reach of children and pets.

    4. Goodbye is the hardest word.

KNOW WHEN TO SAY GOODBYE. When only 1/2" of wax remains, it's time to let your candle go. Discontinue use of a candle when ½” of wax remains at the bottom of the jar. This will prevent possible heat damage to the counter/surface or container itself. The glass can get hot on the bottom as the flame nears the base of the jar and most of the wax has been consumed. By following this instruction, the glass will not get too hot.

    5. Know your limit.

Candles should not be burned for more than four hours at a time. It is recommended that after burning for four hours, candles be extinguished, allowed to cool for two hours, and trimmed before relighting.
