Ngama (Mother) Candle

Rating is 0.0 out of five stars based on reviews

Illuminate your home with the nurturing embrace of our Ngama Candle, named after the Wiradjuri word for "mother." Inspired by the profound love and wisdom of matriarchs and mothers, this candle is a tribute to the guiding light they provide and the enduring bond they share with their families.

At the heart of this fragrant masterpiece lies a symphony of floral elegance, where sweet pea and white jasmine intertwine like the loving embrace of a mother's arms. These middle notes exude warmth and tenderness, evoking memories of cherished moments shared with the women who shape our lives and nurture our souls.

But it's the delicate additions of watermelon and cucumber that truly elevate this fragrance to new heights of joy and upliftment. Like the refreshing kiss of a summer breeze, these top notes infuse the air with a sense of vitality and renewal, reminding us of the boundless energy and infinite love that mothers bring into our lives.

As the flame dances and casts a soft glow, the base notes of sandalwood and amber provide a grounding presence, like the steady strength and unwavering support of a mother's love. Together, these notes create a harmonious balance, mirroring the nurturing and protective instincts that define the essence of motherhood.

But our Ngama Candle is more than just a fragrance—it's a celebration of Aboriginal identity and the sacred role of mothers within Indigenous communities. It's a reminder of the wisdom passed down through generations, the resilience forged in the face of adversity, and the unbreakable bonds of family and kinship.

So light our Ngama Candle and let its fragrance fill your home with love, warmth, and gratitude. It's a tribute to the matriarchs and mothers who guide us, inspire us, and remind us of the incredible strength and beauty of the human spirit.

A great candle experience begins with proper candle care and maintenance. Here are some important burning tips for enjoying your Little Black Duck candle:

1. Preventing memory rings.

Believe it or not, candles have a memory and the very first time you burn your new candle is the most important. Ensure you burn your candle long enough to completely melt the entire top surface of your candle. If the wax is not allowed to liquefy or to melt from edge to edge of the container, it will create a “memory ring,”. Once a candle has this “memory ring,” it will continue to tunnel and to burn that way for the life of the candle. And no one wants that!

2. Trim your wick.

Before lighting, always trim the wick to 6mm and remove any wick debris as this encourages an even burn.

3. Be safe.

Always burn your candle on a heat resistant surface, keep it out of drafts and NEVER leave it unattended while lit. Always burn candles well away from other heat sources, and anything flammable. Make sure burning candles are out of reach of children and pets.

4. Goodbye is the hardest word.

KNOW WHEN TO SAY GOODBYE. When only 1/2" of wax remains, it's time to let your candle go. Discontinue use of a candle when ½” of wax remains at the bottom of the jar. This will prevent possible heat damage to the counter/surface or container itself. The glass can get hot on the bottom as the flame nears the base of the jar and most of the wax has been consumed. By following this instruction, the glass will not get too hot.

5. Know your limit.

Candles should not be burned for more than four hours at a time. It is recommended that after burning for four hours, candles be extinguished, allowed to cool for two hours, and trimmed before relighting.
