Mawam-bul 'Together' Artwork
Mawam-bul meaning "together; all met together" in Wiradjuri language -visually honours the coming together of multiple nations at a shared meeting place. The circular central motif serves as the heart of the artwork, symbolizing unity, harmony, and a common purpose. Radiating pathways extend outward, guiding each group toward the center, reflecting the physical and spiritual journeys undertaken to gather as one.
The triangular segments, filled with intricate dot patterns and sacred markings, represent the unique identities and stories of each nation. The repeating circles and symbols within these segments celebrate people, ancestors, and the knowledge shared during such gatherings. Rich in earthy gold, amber, and ochre tones, *Mawam-bul* embodies connection to Country, the warmth of community, and the timeless act of coming together to exchange stories, culture, and ceremony.
