Ngarru 'Bee' Round Dhangaang Serving Boards

Ngarru 'Bee' Round Dhangaang Serving Boards

CURRENT PRODUCTION TIME: MINIMUM 2 WEEKS.

Wow at your family gatherings with a touch of uniqueness by serving your snacks on these Acacia Wood boards adorned with my hand-painted Aboriginal designs. Ideal for cheese platters, grazing setups, fruit assortments, or even a dessert spread – because #nojudgementhere #youdoyouboo 😂.

Each board is meticulously hand-painted in Uranquinty, Wiradjuri country, capturing the essence of Wiradjuri language where 'dhangaang' means 'food' and 'ngarru' means 'bee.'

Against a radiant backdrop of warm yellow, the Ngarru artwork unfolds the captivating tale of bees. These industrious insects engage in a masterful dance of collaboration and purpose within their hive. Guided by a queen, they establish a seamless and harmonious community, assigning distinct roles to each member through a sophisticated division of labor. Tireless worker bees embark on journeys for nectar and pollen, while drones contribute to the hive's genetic diversity, and nurse bees delicately tend to the developing brood. Through intricate dances and pheromones, a complex system of communication emerges, with bees sharing crucial information about resource locations. This intricate interplay ensures the collective well-being of the hive, underscoring the bees' shared commitment to the greater good. In the artistry of communal living, bees showcase the extraordinary synergy that arises when individual efforts converge for the prosperity and vitality of the entire hive.

Crafted from Acacia wood, painted with acrylics, and sealed with a food-safe varnish, these boards measure 40cm in length with a 30cm diameter.

Please note that each board is created upon your order placement, and you can check the Serving Boards page or the top of this listing for the most up-to-date production timeframes (excluding delivery) which typically range from a minimum of 2 weeks. We appreciate your patience and understanding in supporting our commitment to delivering high-quality, handpainted products.

We take pride in the unique beauty and natural characteristics of wood, but it's important to note that wood is a living material that can exhibit certain traits. Due to its organic nature, your wooden item may experience changes over time, such as warping, cracking, or variations in color and grain pattern. These occurrences are inherent to wood and are influenced by environmental factors like humidity and temperature. Rest assured, these characteristics do not compromise the artistic integrity of your product but rather add to its individual charm. To ensure the longevity of your wooden piece, we recommend placing it in a stable environment away from extreme conditions.

As with any handpainted design, slight variations may occur, including differences in paint colors and design. Embrace these unique characteristics as they contribute to the distinct charm of your individual piece.

  • To ensure the longevity and beauty of your hand-painted serving board, please follow these care instructions:

    1. **Hand Wash Only:** Gently hand wash your wooden board with a mild dish soap and lukewarm water. Avoid using abrasive scrubbers or placing it in a dishwasher, as harsh detergents and high temperatures can damage the paint and wood finish.

    2. **Pat Dry Immediately:** After washing, pat the board dry with a soft, clean cloth or paper towel. Avoid air-drying or prolonged exposure to moisture, as this can lead to warping and compromise the paint and wood quality.

    3. **Avoid Soaking:** Never soak the hand-painted wooden board in water or leave it submerged, as extended exposure to moisture may cause the wood to swell and affect the integrity of the paint.

    4. **Store Properly:** Store the board in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperature changes. Avoid placing heavy objects on top of the board to prevent warping or bending.

    5. **Use Caution with Sharp Objects:** While the board is crafted with durability in mind, exercise caution when using sharp knives or utensils. Avoid cutting directly on the painted surface to prevent scratches or damage to the artwork.

    6. **Reapply Food-Safe Finish:** Over time, if you notice the board becoming dull or dry, you can reapply a thin layer of food-safe mineral oil or beeswax to restore its luster and protect the wood.

    7. **Handle with Care:** Treat your hand-painted wooden board with care to preserve its unique design. Avoid dropping or banging it against hard surfaces, and handle it gently during use and cleaning.

By following these care instructions, you'll ensure that your hand-painted serving board remains a stunning and functional piece for years to come. If you have any specific concerns or questions, feel free to reach out to us for personalised guidance. Thank you for choosing our handpainted products!
