Murrigal Raffia Circle Earrings | LBD x Debbie Wood
Murrigal Raffia Circle Earrings – Acrylic, Madagascan Raffia Earrings
LBD (Wiradjuri) x Debbie Wood (Gomeroi)
For years I've wanted to combine weaving into my pieces and knowing I am not the best weaver meant only one thing- I had to find an incredible weaver to join the team! Enter Gomeroi weaver, Debbie Wood, who brought her weaving skills to the party and what a pair of beauties we've created. Each pair are unique, born from my vision and woven by hand, creating this beautiful interconnectedness between two Aboriginal creative women.
A creative collaboration between Wiradjuri artist, Ashleigh Pengelly (Little Black Duck) and Gomeroi artist and weaver Debbie Wood, the Murrigal Raffia Circle Earrings bring together traditional weaving techniques using Madagascan raffia and contemporary Aboriginal design rooted in story and strength.
These statement earrings feature handwoven raffia circles, centrepieces showcasing my original artwork in acrylic that carry movement and story with every step. Topped with your choice of stud or topper, each pair is as unique as the women who wear them.
These wearable art creations are a nod to the power, softness, and strength carried by Blak women across generations.Whether you wear them for ceremony, connection, or everyday boldness, these earrings are made to honour culture, creativity, and Country.
